Motherless Daughters with Guest Heather McDanel
In this episode we mention a book by Hope Edelman, called "Motherless Daughters." One of the quotes that struck me the most was as follows: "Someone did us all a grave injustice by implying that mourning has a distinct beginning, middle and end...I see the enormous value of a mother's presence because I live everyday with its absence."
My mother’s passing was a definitive mark in time of a “before” and “after.” It is through this episode that I wish to honor her memory and her role, and if you have experienced a similar loss, may this episode serve as a reminder that while we certainly may have had connections with those we have lost, my wish for you is that the connections you choose to make, your chosen family and angels you meet along the way, continue to shape your lives and continue to inspire you every day.
Heather is a gem and shared her journey of losing her mother when she was 20, and the self awareness of her role now knowing the impact of living without a mother for so long was heartfelt.
